We've tested popular adult swimming goggles from Aquasphere, Decathlon, Speedo, Zoggs and more, to find out which are worth buying – whether you're doing lengths in an indoor pool or outdoors in a lido or open water.
Testers tried out each of pair of swim goggles to see which was the most comfortable and easy to adjust, as well as how watertight they were.
Our results showed us that each individual will have a preference when it comes to comfort, depending on their face shape and size. However, our testers did agree on their favourite, which earned our Best Buy recommendation and costs less than £20. We also found a Great Value recommendation that costs even less.

We choose the most popular adult swimming goggles sold at UK retailers and enlist a panel of testers to try them out. We buy all the products we tested.
We regularly revisit the swimming goggles on sale to see if there are any more popular models that need testing and when we find them we do.
Each pair of swimming goggles is rated on the following:

If you wear glasses day to day, you might want to buy a pair of prescription goggles for improved visibility when swimming.
Prescription goggles tend to have lenses that are a similar strength to reading glasses. They won't be identical to your everyday glasses or contact lenses, but they'll improve visibility when in and around the pool, compared with standard swimming goggles.
The brands we tested that offer prescription swimming goggles are:
Chlorine from indoor swimming or salt water from outdoor swimming can damage the lenses and straps on your goggles over time. To help them last longer, rinse your goggles under a cold tap after your swim to wash away chemicals or debris.
Once you've rinsed them, shake off the excess water and leave them to dry on a flat surface, away from sunlight.
Avoid touching or wiping the inside of the lenses, as this can damage the anti-fog coating.
Some of the goggles we tested were left with small scratches after we took them swimming. The best way to avoid this is to store your goggles in a case between swims – some goggles come with cases, but you can often buy one separately if not. If you throw your goggles straight into your bag, they're more likely to get damaged.
We reveal the best and worst opticians, plus nine things you should never use when cleaning your glasses
It's frustrating when your goggles start to fog up mid-way through a swim. This is usually down to your body temperature rising, while the water temperature remains cool.
A simple way to stop this from happening is to wet your face and goggles with the water you're swimming in. This helps to bring the temperature of your skin closer to that of the water.
If the anti-fog coating on your goggles is wearing down, you can also use an anti-fog spray to counteract condensation.
We haven't tested anti-fog sprays, but the Anti-fog re-activator for £5.99 at Decathlon is the cheapest we found online at the time of testing.
Other options include the Zoggs EcoFog Anti Fog Goggle Spray, available from £7.20 at Amazon, Decathlon and Zoggs, and the Arena Instant Anti-Fog Spray, £8.40 at Amazon.
