Discover our expert pick of the best laptop deals - these are great deals on laptops that perform well in our independent lab tests. You can use our advice to help you quickly make the right choice when buying a laptop in the sales.
Big manufacturers launch their new ranges annually, even before the previous year’s stock has sold out. This, along with heavy competition between brands and retailers, means there are usually good deals around. And if nothing catches your eye, there are always new laptop deals around the corner.
However, not every offer is as attractive as it might appear. Read on for our expert pick of genuine laptop deals on models that score well in our tests and are on sale at a good price. We've found some significant savings - we've even found £249 off the brand new Apple MacBook Pro with an M3 processor.
We reveal the best laptops for all budgets, based on our tough independent tests.
We've highlighted a top pick laptop deal below. Keep scrolling to see the rest of our favourite deals, ordered by price.
We like: Flexible design
We don't like: Mediocre webcam in our tests
This laptop has a 13-inch screen that can be flipped around to be used like a large tablet. It weighs 1.39kg, which is about average for a 2-in-1, 13-inch laptop. This means it’s light enough to be carried around in a bag all day without causing much bother. It isn’t huge, but there are enough ports to keep most people happy.
But none of that guarantees a long battery life or a keyboard and trackpad that are smooth to use. That's where our expert lab testing comes in...
See our full HP ENVY x360 13-bf0003na review to see if it's right for you.
We've seen it discounted to £699 from HP, which we reckon is a legitimate £100 saving on previous deal prices and £200 off its launch price.
We like: Large screen
We don't like: Build quality feels a bit flimsy
The Samsung Galaxy Book 2 has a large, 15.5-inch Full HD display, 8GB of Ram, 256GB solid-state drive and Dolby Atmos-branded sound.
Most laptops over 15 inches are best suited to home use but the Galaxy Book 2 is slim (17.5mm) and light (1.54kg) enough to be taken out for the occasional jaunt.
The model we tested had an Intel Core i3 processor, but the one we've found on offer has an even better i5 processor.
Read our expert Samsung Galaxy Book 2 review to see if it meets your needs.
We like: Good specs for the price
We don't like: Speakers could be better
We already thought this was a good-value laptop, even before it went on sale. It's a 15-inch laptop with good specs - ideal for anybody looking to get work done without having to make too many compromises. This laptop has been discounted consistently over recent months and was available for £349 when we last checked.

We like: Plenty of Ram and storage
We don't like: Speakers aren’t great, based on our tests
This 14-inch laptop weighs 1.46kg, making it reasonably easy to take out and about. It has a 256GB solid-state drive (SSD), which is unusually large for a Chromebook; they are designed for people who store most of their files in online cloud storage services such as Google Drive. But more on-board storage is always nice to have.
It has two USB-A ports, two USB-C ports, an HDMI port and a 3.5mm headphone/microphone jack.
Our AsusChromebook Plus CX34 review will explain all you need to know.
This Chromebook is down to £260 at Amazon, but compare this with the prices at other retailers below.

Find out moreWe like: Versatile and lightweight
We don’t like: Webcam isn’t brilliant
This 2-in-1 laptop has a 13.3-inch touchscreen that can be flipped all the way around so the laptop can be used like a large tablet, or propped up on a desk in ‘tent’ mode to put the screen front and centre.
It comes with a stylus for writing and drawing directly on the screen, so it should appeal to anybody who prefers handwritten notes or those who want to produce drawing and graphics professionally.
Read our full Samsung Galaxy Book 3 360 13.3-inch review to find out if it's the right laptop for you. See below for the best deals we could find.
We like: Versatile, vibrant screen
We don’t like: Disappointing webcam, based on our lab tests
This 14-inch laptop can be flipped over and comes with a stylus pen, so it could appeal if you're looking for a laptop that you can draw directly onto. Its 16GB of Ram is impressive and its 2,880 x 1,800 pixel resolution is sharp. Its backlit keys make it easy to see the symbols on the keyboard, even in the dark.
It weighs 1.5kg, so it's not the lightest we've tested - but we've seen heavier, too.
Read our full Asus Zenbook 14 Flip OLED UP3404VA review to find out if it's the ideal laptop for you. See below for the best prices.
We like: Well built
We don't like: Poor webcam, based on our tests
This 15-inch laptop weighs 1.56kg. This is about average for this size of laptop, although its slim design makes it less unwieldy than others we've tested at this weight.
It has a 10-core Intel Core i7 processor with two ‘performance’ cores and eight ‘efficiency’ cores for background tasks. This is paired with 8GB of Ram, and there’s a 256GB SSD as well. If you later decide you want more storage or the SSD develops a fault, it can be easily removed and replaced.

We like: Thin and light
We don’t like: Not many ports
The MacBook Air is thinner, lighter and cheaper than the MacBook Pro, but it also has a smaller battery and no cooling fan to keep the processor performing at its best when working full pelt on intensive tasks.
The thing that really stands out is just how portable this 13-inch 2020 MacBook Air is - it weighs in at less than 1.3kg. Specifications-wise, there’s an Apple M1 processor on board, 8GB of Ram and 256GB of SSD storage, meaning it should be fast enough for most day-to-day tasks. And the 2,560x1,600 screen is the same pin-sharp resolution as the 2020 MacBook Pro.
Read our Apple MacBook Air 13-inch (2020) review for the results of our in-depth lab testing.
We like: Thin and light
We don’t like: Only two ports
This laptop weighs 1.35kg, and feels solidly built thanks to its aluminium shell. Ports-wise, there are two USB-C ports and a headphone jack. The USB-C ports also work with the Thunderbolt 3 and USB 4.0 standards, which allows you to connect to a host of high-end accessories such as high-speed external storage.
It's currently on sale at Laptops Direct for just under £900.
Read our full Apple MacBook Pro 13-inch (2020) review to see if it provides the performance you need.
We like: Quiet, beautiful Liquid Retina display
We don’t like: Poorer battery life than previous models (based on our tests)
This 2022 Apple MacBook Air is the latest version of Apple's vastly popular lightweight laptop. It has the M2 chip, is thinner and lighter than its predecessor, and some elements have been redesigned.
It also features Apple's Liquid Retina display, which is a big selling point if you're looking to edit photos and videos.
So is it worth your money? Our Apple MacBook Air 13-inch (2022) review will reveal all.
We like: Fantastic, large screen
We don’t like: Just two USB-C ports
The 15-inch MacBook Air is the biggest out of the Air models, but it's still thinner, lighter and cheaper than MacBook Pro alternatives. Specifications-wise, it comes equipped with an Apple M2 processor with eight cores (including four ‘fast performance’ cores), 8GB of Ram and a 256GB SSD (solid state drive).
There are just two USB-C/Thunderbolt ports on this laptop, both on the left side, along with a MagSafe charging port. On the right, you have a 3.5mm headphone/microphone jack.
Apple boldly claims that this 2023 iteration is the ‘world’s best 15-inch laptop’, so we’ve put it through our full lab test to see if this laptop is all it’s cracked up to be, and worth your money.
Check our Apple MacBook Air 15-inch (2023) review to if this is a better option for you than a Pro model (scroll down for our 16-inch Pro deals).
We like: Sublime build quality
We don’t like: Very heavy
This is Apple’s biggest and most expensive laptop. It has a 16.2-inch screen and weighs in at a colossal 2.1kg. This makes it one of the heaviest laptops we’ve tested and will be a noticeable presence in your bag when you take it out and about. It’s just 19mm thick, so while it has heft it will slide into even the most overstuffed of work bags.
Read our full Apple MacBook Pro 16-inch (M3 Pro, late 2023) review and compare prices for the 16-inch model below. Scroll down to find out about deals on the 14-inch model.
We like: Quick processor, rare to see a deal on a brand new MacBook
We don’t like: Heavier than most 14-inch laptops
This new 14-inch MacBook Pro features an Apple M3 processor, 8GB of Ram and a 512GB SSD. It weighs 1.53kg, which is pretty heavy for a 14-inch laptop, but this is justified by its all-metal body and slightly offset by its impressively thin, 18mm chassis.
There are two USB-C ports that also work with the super-high-speed Thunderbolt 4 data transfer format, an HDMI port, SD card reader and 3.5mm headphone/microphone jack.
Read our full Apple MacBook Pro 14-inch (M3, late 2023) review to see if it's worth the still high price tag.

Michael Passingham, Which? laptop expert says:
It feels like most laptops are on discount most of the time, doesn't it? It can therefore be really hard to spot a genuinely great deal. Aside from using our hand-picked deals featured above, you can do your own research to find stonking deals.
I'd recommend making a shortlist of laptops based on our Which? laptop reviews. Then occasionally check in on the prices every now and then (we list the best retailer deals we can find in every review) to get a feel of how the price cycle goes, and then see what happens over a given sales period. Once a laptop is advertised at a discount in a deal season such as Black Friday, it is unlikely to get any cheaper at a given retailer, so you should feel satisfied that you've got the best price you'll find for a few months.
Deals that get me excited:
Deals I'd skip:
If you're not looking to spend a lot on a new laptop, there are plenty of cheaper models that can handle day-to-day tasks well. See our expert pick of the best cheap laptops – we feature models for less than £200, £300 and £500.
If you want to spend even less, or if you want something high-spec that won't cost the earth, consider a second-hand or refurbished model. To find out more, go to how to buy a second-hand or refurbished laptop.
Laptop deals are available all year round. If you have a particular brand in mind for your next model, you need to know where to look. Read our independent laptop reviews to ensure you get the best deal.
You can often find deals on Acer’s UK website that aren’t available elsewhere. The site also lists a wider range of specifications on certain models than you will find on the high street, so it’s always worth checking here as well as the usual online stores.
Check out our Acer laptop reviews.
We’ve found Apple laptops are very often cheaper, and available for faster delivery, when you don't buy direct from Apple. The main reason you’d buy directly is if you wanted a specification, such as a processor, Ram and storage combination, that isn’t available anywhere else. But you’re less likely to bag a bargain this way.

Asus laptops are stocked by a wide range of retailers in various configurations, so it’s always worth shopping around. The company also sells directly on its website. Its prices are mostly higher than other retailers, unless you’re a student, in which case you can get 15% off if you buy direct.

For the widest range of Dell laptops, you should look at the Dell website. If you’re thinking of buying from a retailer, check whether there’s a cheaper or higher-spec model available direct before you buy.
Dell often has some kind of online voucher code or discount active, so it pays to wait for one before buying.

HP laptops are stocked by nearly every laptop retailer, but most of the ‘deals’ you’ll find are at Currys, with dozens of models available. Most HP laptops go on sale at a higher price and are discounted by at least £100 after a month or so.
HP also sells directly through its website, so it’s always worth checking there for discounts and voucher codes.

Like Asus, Lenovo models are found scattered around the high street and at online-only retailers, so it’s worth doing your research. We’ve often found you get the best price buying direct from the Lenovo website, so always check there before you buy.

You shouldn't need to pay full price for a laptop, but just because a deal exists doesn’t mean it’s worthwhile. Here's how to see through the tricks of the trade at key retailers.
At certain times of the year, Currys loads up its clearance pages with laptop deals. Despite what the term ‘clearance’ might suggest, discounts on these models can sometimes be very small.
If you spot a discount, do check whether rival stores are selling it for less. We've seen laptops initially go on sale for a higher price, then drop to something more reasonable.
Currys also operates a price-matching scheme, but this may not always be as good as it seems. Many of the laptops it sells are exclusive to the store; it might be an exclusive colour or a slight change in specification, but it’s enough that the model won't qualify for a price match.
Amazon often has the best price on a given laptop, but it's always worth checking if it's being sold directly by Amazon or a marketplace seller. If it's the latter, check the seller's reviews before buying and check , but it does have a wide variety of notebooks on sale at any given time. However, many of its bestsellers are quite old – some are even second-hand. It’s always worth checking Amazon though, just in case it has a laptop you’re interested in at a discount.
Also, be wary of small-brand laptops sold exclusively on Amazon. We’ve tested a few and none has impressed us – despite the overwhelming number of positive reviews from buyers.
Argos often has good deals on individual laptops, so it’s always worth checking back there to see what’s new. Watch for ‘deals’ marked as ‘WOW’ though, as these can quite often not be deals at all and simply reflect Argos wanting you to pay attention to a product. Also look for pointers that say ‘great new price’ – we’ve seen in the past that the new price can be higher than the old one.
The best bet for Argos deals is to look for ‘clearance’ deals, as these are normally genuine discounts.
