Best Apple iPhone 15 deals

We usually wouldn't expect to see a big discount on the latest Apple iPhone until we get close to next year's launch, but the iPhone 15 has just dropped by £100 at a range of retailers. Some have special offers on extras if you buy an iPhone 15 from them – such as free Sim cards or access to Apple TV+.

However, the iPhone 15 has relatively minor upgrades over the iPhone 14, so the smart money is on a slightly older model, if you're after a better discount.

Find out where you can buy the iPhone 15 below, find contract deals or see if it's worth the upgrade in our iPhone 15 review.

The iPhone 15 Plus is available at the retailers below. For the full scoop, see our iPhone 15 Plus review.

With more premium camera specs, the iPhone 15 Pro is on sale at the places below. Find out if it lives up to expectations in our iPhone 15 Pro review.

We've noticed that the iPhone 15 Pro Max has often been out of stock, but when it's available it will appear below. Discover what happened when we sent it to the lab in our iPhone 15 Pro Max review.

Contract deals can be an appealing way to spread the cost, but you'll need to carefully work out how much you're paying to see if the deal is as good as it seems. Our phone contract calculator can help, and you can check the latest contract deals on the iPhone 15 below.

Best Apple iPhone 14 deals

With the release of the iPhone 15, you can find some attractive discounts on the Apple iPhone 14 and other models in the series.

Apple iPhone 14

  • 6.1-inch (2,532 x 1,170) Super Retina XDR display
  • Dual-camera system with a larger sensor
  • Estimated minimum of six years of security updates from launch

We like: Camera upgrades

We don’t like: No 'Dynamic Island' notch on the display

The Apple iPhone 14, launched in 2022, is being discounted now the Apple iPhone 15 has been released. It's the standard model in the 14 range, and the cheapest, but it has a number of premium perks. The processor, named the A15 Bionic chip, is the same as in the iPhone 13, but it received an upgraded 5-core GPU and 6GB of memory. The front-facing camera has powerful autofocus, making it smarter at focusing in pictures.

It comes in five different colours, and with 128GB, 256GB or 512GB of memory. Cinematic mode records in 4K, but the cameras aren't as advanced as on the iPhone 14 Pro.

To find out if it lives up to expectations, check out our iPhone 14 review. Check contract deals and prices from retailers below.

Apple iPhone 14 Plus

If you're after a bigger screen, consider the iPhone 14 Plus. It has all the same specs as the iPhone 14 but with a 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR OLED screen and a larger battery.

Compare contract deals on the iPhone 14 Plus or buy it from the retailers below.

Apple iPhone 14 Pro

The iPhone Pro models are where you'll find Apple's most advanced cameras, with a 48Mp LiDAR sensor and a 12Mp telephoto camera for clearer zoomed-in shots. The iPhone 14 Pro is the main phone in the range with a 6.1-inch display and the Dynamic Island pill-shaped camera notch. Apple has taken advantage of the extra space given by this notch on the screen for alerts and notifications. It has Apple's A16 Bionic Chip, which is the same processor used in the most recent iPhone 15 and 15 Plus.

  • Apple A15 Bionic chip
  • Wireless charging is supported

We like: Adaptable cameras

We don’t like: Bright screen can drain the battery

This Apple iPhone 13 was released in 2021, but you'll still get fancy cameras, waterproofing, wireless charging and Face ID. We expect it to get security updates until at least September 2027.

Apple iPhone 12

Apple iPhone 12
  • 6.1-inch OLED display
  • Apple A14 Bionic chip
  • IP68 waterproof rating

We like: Durable and easy to use

We don’t like: Battery takes a while to charge

Released in 2020, this iPhone runs off Apple’s own A14 Bionic processor, with 4GB of Ram. You get 64GB of storage (of which 48GB is usable), but this can’t be extended as there’s no slot for a memory card. It has two rear cameras, a 12Mp wide and 12Mp ultra-wide lens, plus a 12Mp front camera.

Apple iPhone SE 2022

The iPhone SE 2022 is worth considering if you're after a cheaper iPhone. The 2022 version is Apple's third-generation SE, and while it's currently hard to find a big discount, it's still significantly cheaper than other iPhones. It comes with a 4.7-inch Retina HD screen, a single rear camera lens that can film in 4K, and the same processor as the iPhone 13.

How to spot a good deal on an iPhone

Amy Axworthy, Which? mobile phones expert, says:

Amy Axworthy
  • iPhone deals are scarce and you're likely to get the best offers by choosing an iPhone that's not in the latest range. If you do find a discount on a recent iPhone, consider it a good deal if you're getting around 20% off.
  • Avoid buying an iPhone that's likely to lose its security updates soon. Sometimes, phones can look like they're a great deal, but a much older model might be at risk of losing important security updates fairly soon after you buy it. Security updates and patches are important to keep your data safe. We only recommend deals on iPhones (see above) that we estimate have at least two years of security patches remaining.
  • Decide what's most important to you in your new phone. Cameras generally account for the biggest expense, but you might find that the priciest camera features aren't important to you. Check out our Apple iPhone reviews to explore all there is to offer.

Best second-hand iPhone deals

Before buying an iPhone, you should consider looking at the second-hand and refurbished market, as this is often where the best savings can be found. iPhones dominate this market, which means prices are competitive.

When buying second-hand, double check the phone is still supported with security updates. If it's no longer supported, your phone is more at risk of hackers exploiting vulnerabilities in its software. Some second-hand retailers, such as Music Magpie, will warn you if a phone no longer has security support in the specs – but many won't. Use the Which? phone support calculator to find out how long you can expect to get support.

Second-hand phones are sold with a grade according to condition. Our research shows a grade B (or equivalent 'good') will generally get you the best deal, balancing price with the quality of features.

Read more in our guide on how to buy a second-hand or refurbished phone.

Our pick: Apple iPhone 13 (original price £799, now around £340 second-hand)

iPhone 13

Since the release of the iPhone 15 in September 2023, the iPhone 13 series from 2021 is seeing some major discounts on the second-hand market. It doesn't have the advanced cameras of the iPhone 13 Pro, but it doesn't scrimp on specs: you'll get Apple's A15 Bionic Chip, a striking display and the sought-after cinematic camera mode. We expect Apple to support it with regular security updates until at least January 2027.

We've seen it on sale for around £340 in 'good' second-hand condition at Music Magpie. Find out the full story in our Apple iPhone 13 review.

Also consider these popular phones that can now be found cheaper at multiple second-hand retailers:

  • Apple iPhone 12 (original price £799, now £220 second-hand) More and more iPhone 12s are appearing on the second-hand market. You should find them for £200-£500, depending on the phone's condition. The cheapest one in 'good' or grade B condition we found was at iOutlet for around £220.
  • Apple iPhone 12 Pro (original price £1,149, now £290 second-hand) The iPhone 12 Pro is an upgrade from the 12, with better cameras. It currently goes for less than half its original price in 'good' second-hand condition. We've seen it on sale for around £290 at Music Magpie.

How to get the most money for an old iPhone

If you're about to buy a new iPhone, there are some simple ways to get cash for your old one.

  • Apple Trade In Apple takes your device and swaps it for credit towards your next purchase or offers you an Apple gift card. If your device isn't eligible (perhaps it's damaged beyond repair), Apple will recycle it for you. The Apple Trade In website has a list of price estimates for iPhone models. You can trade in the iPhone 12 for up to an estimated £235 and the iPhone 13 for £360. You can return your old device using a pre-paid trade-in kit that Apple sends, or take it to an Apple store.
  • Third-party sellers If you want cash instead of credit, consider trading in your old iPhone to a third-party seller. Music Magpie offers up to £180 for an iPhone 12 (64GB, unlocked) and £245 for an iPhone 13 (128GB, unlocked). CeX offers up to £191 for an iPhone 12 and £227 for an iPhone 13.
  • Mobile phone providers trade-in You can also trade in your phone to mobile phone providers such as O2, Vodafone, EE and Three. They either offer credit towards your next purchase or cash. O2 currently offers up to £135 for the iPhone 12 (64GB) and up to £176.75 for the iPhone 13 (128GB). Three offers up to £135 for the iPhone 12 (64GB) and up to £176 for the iPhone 13 (128GB).
  • Recycling comparison websites Some websites such as Compare and recycle and Sellmymobile.com will compare offers for your phone to help you find the best deal. Your phone is then sent off to your chosen recycler. On these websites, the iPhone 12 (64GB, unlocked) is going for around £200, and the iPhone 13 (128GB) for around £270.
  • eBay You're likely to get the most money by selling your old phone independently through an online marketplace like eBay, though this requires more effort on your part to manage the sale and delivery. The iPhone 12 (64GB) seems to be selling for £200-£350, and the iPhone 13 (128GB) for £350-£450.

Before parting ways with your old phone, back up your phone's data or transfer it to your new phone so you don't lose anything. Then erase your data by performing a 'factory reset', which can be found in your phone's Settings.
