If you'd prefer a cheaper option without a TV service, then you can find your ideal package by comparing all the latest broadband deals.
Rather than just offering a set list of channels, BT allows you to add different combinations of channels each month, depending on which package you choose. These combinations are based around Now TV services, though they are called EE TV.
You can choose between five packages – Entertainment, Big Entertainment, Sport, Big Sport and Full Works (formerly called VIP). All include Freeview, plus a combination of premium channels. While BT’s standard TV and broadband contracts last 24 months, you can change which package you have every 30 days until the last three months of your contract.
As the name suggests, Entertainment and Big Entertainment are focused around premium entertainment and include channels such as Gold, Sky Atlantic and Syfy. In addition, Big Entertainment includes the Sky Cinema channels, plus films on-demand.
Meanwhile, Sport includes all four TNT Sports channels, including 52 Premier League matches and all of the UEFA Champions League series. Big Sport has the same, plus 12 Sky Sports channels.
And if you fancy all of the above, you can opt for Full Works – a combination of the Big Sport and Big Entertainment packages. It’s also possible to opt for more than one package, so you can choose to combine Entertainment and Sport separately, if you prefer.
You can add Amazon Prime Video and Netflix separately to any deal.
In terms of broadband service, BT has the best availability in the country. BT only offers its TV service to customers with a superfast fibre connection – average speeds on offer are between 36Mbps and 67Mbps, depending on the package you take.
But around two thirds of UK properties can also access ultrafast BT broadband via fibre-optic technology called 'G.fast' or 'fibre to the premises' (FTTP). BT's full fibre offerings have average speeds of 145Mbps, 300Mbps, 500Mbps and 910Mbps, depending on the package.
Plus, as part of the broadband element of the service, customers get free access to the UK's largest wi-fi network with more than 5m hotspots and free BT Cloud secure online storage to back up their files.

Yes – so if you do decide to take up a broadband contract with BT, keep in mind that it will increase the price of your deal at the end of March each year. The cost of both your broadband and pay-TV service will rise.
BT will base the increase on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rate of inflation as published in January and add on an additional 3.9%, leading to an increase of 7.9% in 2024.
You don't need a cable or satellite connection to watch TV with a bundled package – instead, you watch over Freeview or through your internet connection.
All of BT’s TV and broadband deals now come with a BT branded PVR. This lets you pause live TV, access seven days of catch-up TV and record up to 300 hours of programmes.
It's also possible to opt for a Max 4K HD package, which comes with BT's upgraded Ultra HD YouView box. This is compatible with 4K services and can also record 300 hours of content.
