What does Lloyds Bank offer?

Lloyds Bank dates back to June 1765, when John Taylor and Sampson Lloyd set up a private banking business in Birmingham. Today, Lloyds Bank offers a wide range of financial products including home insurance, car insurance, bank accounts and mortgages.

It belongs to the Lloyds Banking Group, which owns other well-known brands, such as Halifax, Bank of Scotland and Scottish Widows, and its home insurance is underwritten by Lloyds Bank General Insurance Limited.

We've reviewed its Select range of policies - which come at three levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold - as well as two policies only available on comparison sites - Home Insurance and Home Insurance Ultimate. Halifax sells identically named Select policies, which received identical scores to Lloyds Bank's in our analysis. 

Lloyds Bank's standard policy (Select Silver) covers subsidence, burst pipes, blockage of sewage pipes, accidental damage, legal protection and key cover as standard. You can add cover for home emergencies (including boiler cover), personal possessions away from the home, and bicycles.
