What network does Talkmobile use?

Talkmobile is a virtual provider, which means it uses another provider's infrastructure – in this case, the Vodafone network. It offers 2, 4G and 5G coverage, as Vodafone has shut down its 3G network.

How good is Talkmobile’s mobile coverage?

You can check coverage where you live by using a mobile network coverage checker. Enter your postcode into a map, and it will tell you how good Vodafone's signal is in your area and compare it with the other providers.

Talkmobile’s deals and incentives

Talkmobile offers Sim-only deals on either a 30-day rolling plan or a 12-month contract. Plans range from £6.95 a month for 6GB of data to £32 a month for unlimited data. All plans come with unlimited calls and texts.

With an emphasis on providing data as cheaply as possible, Talkmobile doesn’t offer any rewards, incentives or complicated contracts. It will provide data, calls and texts cheaply and generally efficiently, but little else. This could be ideal if you don’t tend to use your phone often.

All Talkmobile plans come with 5GB of free EU roaming each month.

Does Talkmobile increase its prices each year?

For 12-month Sim-only contracts, Talkmobile maintains the right to increase its prices each year using the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rate of inflation, plus 3.9%. It uses the December CPI rate published in January.

It chose not to do this for 2024, but if it had, the December CPI rate was 4%. This means that the majority of customers would have seen a price increase of 7.9%.

Rolling 30-day Sim-only contracts aren't hit by costly inflation-based mid-contract price increases. Before the end of the month, you will be able to check what the price to renew is. If it does increase or is too expensive, you can switch to a different network with no penalty.

Talkmobile stores

Talkmobile has no physical stores, aiming to offer the cheapest possible deals by cutting back on extra services and costs. It claims that most customers prefer to manage their accounts and resolve any issues online, but does offer contact with a help team by phone or webchat.
