What TV and broadband deals does TalkTalk offer?

TalkTalk's TV service is only available as part of a fibre or full fibre broadband package. You don't need a cable or satellite connection – you watch TV over Freeview or through your internet connection.

In many cases, the Freeview channels will be transmitted to your TV through your aerial, while all catch-up TV and specialist channels are delivered to the hub supplied by TalkTalk, via your broadband connection. To watch its TV service, you need to be in an area that can receive TalkTalk broadband at speeds of 2Mbps or more (5Mbps to get premium channels).

With TalkTalk, you add its TV service to your broadband contract and the minimum commitment is 30 days. Access to up to 80 Freeview channels is included, and you can bolt on additional services such as Amazon Prime Video, Netflix and Now TV for an extra fee.

It's worth noting that TalkTalk TV customers get a discount on Now TV memberships, allowing access to premium Sky content including Sky Atlantic, Sky Sports and Sky Cinema. TalkTalk also throws in Now Boost for free – this usually costs £6 per month and allows you to stream up to three devices simultaneously, in full HD.

Does TalkTalk put up TV and broadband prices every year?

Yes – so if you do decide to take up a broadband contract with TalkTalk, keep in mind that it will raise the price of your deal at the beginning of April each year. It will base that increase on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rate of inflation as published in January and add on an extra 3.7%, meaning an increase of 7.7% in 2024.

However, TalkTalk's price rise only applies to the broadband element of your service – the price for TalkTalk TV will stay the same.

What equipment comes with TalkTalk TV and broadband?

If you take TalkTalk's TV and broadband service, you will now receive its new 4K TV Hub – it works via wi-fi and lets you pause and rewind live TV. It doesn't allow you to record TV, but it provides access to apps such as BBC iPlayer and ITVX that let you catch up via on-demand services instead.
