With the Fireangel Pro FP1640W2-R mains-powered smoke alarm you can enable text alerts or test the system using your smartphone or other portable device. It also has wi-fi connectivity, and can link wirelessly to other devices in the range, such as the FireAngel Pro FP1740W2-R heat alarm, to form an interconnected network. This means if fire is detected it one area of your house, all the alarms will sound together, making it suitable for homes in Scotland once the smoke alarm law changes in February 2022. It has an in-built lithium battery with a 10-year life that acts as a back-up power supply, so it will still operate during a power cut. It comes with a five-year guarantee. But is it any good at raising the alarm when smoke is in the air? To find out, we tested it. Read on for our full review.
