What's Enterprise like?

You splashed out the most for Enterprise cars. It’s never been a cheap option but in the past its customer service has been worth paying extra for. This year however, the value for money rating has dipped to an average three stars. Still, Enterprise is reliable – and streets ahead of rival Avis. Plenty of returning customers let us know that they’d used Enterprise several times and experienced a ‘good, consistent level of service’.

Existing damage was diligently recorded, meaning you were less likely to get stung for scrapes you didn’t cause. One driver said there was ‘absolutely no hassle with scratches’ as they were ‘all pointed out when collecting the car’.

Another customer described the experience as ‘very simple and trouble-free’. However, you might find yourself fighting off an eager sales pitch: almost a third of those who bought extra insurance at the rental desk said they felt under pressure to do so. One reader told us they felt pressure because ‘they kept telling me about all the things that could go wrong.'

Should I book with Enterprise?

Yes. It’s the joint best option for rental outside the Canary Islands alongside its sister company Alamo. Just bear in mind that it’s rarely the cheapest option, and steel yourself to resist overzealous agents pushing extra insurance.
